Finding A Way Toward Peace In Israel - Palestine

Finding a Way toward Peace

in Israel-Palestine

Saturday, February 1, 2025

4:30 - 6:00pm @ PCS

Finding a Way aims to find a way to unite people despite their differences, and is working together for the shared values of peace and justice for all. In the face of war, trauma, and suffering in Israel/Palestine, we resist hopelessness and futility by convening during these challenging times. We acknowledge that we have different lived experiences and will explore common ground through dialogue, study, music and prayer, highlighting the universal themes and core values that we share from our various sacred texts and shared humanity.

We will be gathering for connection and compassion, listening and learning at the end of Shabbat.

RSVP to Rabbi Shosh @ rabbishosh@shalompcs.com

Songs of the Valley

SONGS OF THE VALLEY

Thursday, January 30, 7:00pm @ PCS

"Songs of the Valley" is a collaboration between guitarist / composer Oren Neiman, who many of you have heard at PCS during the High Holidays, and bassist / composer G. Efrati. The duo are childhood friends who began their journey in music together in a small town in the Jezreel valley in Israel. "Songs of the Valley" combines the sounds and landscapes of their childhood, with the vast experience they’ve had as travelling musicians.

Neiman has active career as a guitar player in projects such as Fiddler on the Roof in Yiddish and others, as a bandleader/ composer for his own trio and the duo Isra-Alien, and as a composer for theater. Efrati's ensemble has toured Brazil, South Korea, France, Italy, Denmark, and the UK, where they performed for Prince Charles at Royal Albert Hall. He has also performed and recorded with leading Israeli artists such as Noa, Idan Raichel, Nurit Galron, Yasmin Levy and many more.

Joining them at this performance will be Nadav Snir-Zelniker, an Israeli-born, NY-based drummer / percussionist, and virtuoso violinist Joyce Hamman, a current member of the NY pops who has played with everyone from Paul McCartney to Sting, in addition to being the concertmaster for Phantom of the Opera on Broadway for many years.

PCS members can purchase discounted tickets to this event. Please join us for a special evening!
